DREAMER STORY

Yehemi dreams of joining the FBI

TAKE ACTION

My name is Yehemi D. and I am a DACA recipient.

I came here when I was 8 years old. I loved elementary school. I loved all my teachers. I tried to succeed in all my classes because I knew that as an immigrant I had to work harder. I had to show myself and prove myself.

To be an American means to contribute to this country with passion and desire.

I’m a pet caretaker. I usually work with the customers, I do the customer service and I take care of their pets. When I started working, using my Social Security number from DACA, I felt I was contributing to my country.

I’m doing my Bachelor’s right now, and I hope to be a police officer and contribute to the community.

Dreamer and Aspiring FBI Agent

To be an American, it means to contribute to this country with passion and desire. It does not matter if you’re an immigrant, it does not matter where you come from, if you have big dreams to achieve,  you can succeed.

I don’t lose the hope of one day getting that opportunity, having a pathway to a more permanent status.

I am someone and I can contribute to the U.S.
