FWD.us Statement on White House Immigration Meeting Between President Trump and Members of Congress

WASHINGTON, DC – FWD.us President Todd Schulte issued the following statement after today’s immigration meeting at the White House between President Trump and Members of Congress:

“The meeting at the White House makes it absolutely clear that not only must Congress pass legislation now to protect Dreamers, paired with increased sensible border security, but that President Trump would support this deal. The time is in the next 10 days. Let’s do this right now.

“Three former Secretaries of Homeland Security, Secretaries Chertoff, Napolitano, and Johnson, wrote a letter last week urging Congress to act by January 19th, highlighting how much time it would take for DHS to implement a plan from Congress. There is no reason to delay, and the cost of inaction is Dreamers getting deported. Congress should come together and get this done now.”
