FWD.us Statement on President Trump’s Decision to Terminate TPS for Nearly 200,000 People From El Salvador

WASHINGTON, DC – FWD.us President Todd Schulte issued the following statement today after the Trump Administration announced that it will eliminate work authorization and deportation protections for nearly 200,000 people from El Salvador:

“Terminating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for El Salvador as of 2019 is a devastating decision that will create 200,000 more soon-to-be undocumented immigrants, many who have lived in this country for nearly two decades and have long been contributing members of our country. This doesn't make use safer and will hurt our communities and our economy. The Trump Administration should reverse this action, so that mothers, fathers, friends & coworkers do not have to spend the next year-and-a-half waiting for a time when they could be ripped from their jobs, families and communities.”
