FWD.us Statement on Trump Administration’s Failure to Reunite Every Separated Family by Court-Mandated Deadline

WASHINGTON, DC – FWD.us President Todd Schulte released the following statement today as the Trump Administration failed to meet the court-mandated July 26 deadline to reunite all of the families separated under its extreme “zero tolerance” policy:

“These families should have never been in this awful situation. The Trump Administration’s policy of taking children from their parents is cruel, chaotic, and inhumane. We’re so thankful to have so many amazing partners in the effort to push for this policy to stop by supporting travel logistics — and to get these families back together with dignity and compassion. We don’t know how many families will remain apart as the government misses today’s critically important deadline. We know hundreds of parents were already deported. We know this crisis will continue. And we know that the need to fight for a country that upholds the best of our values continues.”
