DENVER, CO — FWD.us Colorado State Director Marissa Molina released the following statement today on new data showing that hundreds of thousands of people in Colorado stand to benefit from inclusion in federal relief efforts in the latest proposed coronavirus aid legislation, the HEROES Act:
“We’re encouraged that the HEROES Act would include much-needed relief for the estimated 236,000 people living in mixed-status Colorado families who have so far been excluded from pandemic relief stimulus payments – including 95,000 children and spouses who are U.S. citizens or green card holders. Neither party should be discriminating against individuals who are suffering because of their family members’ immigration status, and we hope both houses of Congress will pass this legislation swiftly to help all families who are struggling due to this unprecedented public health crisis.”
