FWD.us Joins More Than 90 of the Nation’s Top Business Leaders to Urge Congress to Protect Dreamers

WASHINGTON, DC – FWD.us today joined more than 90 of the nation’s top CEOs representing major companies, associations and organizations from across the country in signing a joint letter to President Biden and Congressional leaders in both parties outlining why Congress must take up and swiftly pass legislation this year that will help protect Dreamers, U.S. companies, and the country.

The new letter and urgent call for action also ran as a full-page advertisement in today’s New York Times. Click here to read the full letter.

FWD.us President Todd Schulte issued the following statement:

“We are proud to stand with the nation’s top employers in supporting a long-overdue pathway to citizenship for Dreamers who have built their lives here over decades. These hardworking young people are deeply ingrained in communities across the United States and know this country to be home.

Dreamers, TPS holders and essential workers not only contribute their talents and skills to the American workforce, but boost the U.S. economy forward through their spending power and by paying billions of dollars in federal, state and local taxes each year. Many are courageously working in essential roles in the fight against COVID-19, even as their own futures remain uncertain. Their contributions are vital to our nation’s continued public health and economic recovery, but without a pathway to citizenship, Dreamers, TPS holders and essential workers remain at risk of being ripped out of their jobs and separated from their families.

“Immigration clearly has an important economic and budgetary impact and is a significant driver of our nation’s economic success. This is an urgent economic issue and Congress must act quickly to prevent the lives of Dreamers, TPS holders and essential workers from being upended in the country they love.”
