Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a hugely successful program that provides deportation protections and work authorization for individuals in the U.S. who cannot safely return to their home countries.
FWD.us estimates that, as of early 2025, nearly 1.3 million individuals in the U.S. were TPS holders. However, continued terminations of TPS designations and other administrative efforts to restrict access to protections and work authorizations mean that protections for many of these individuals are at great risk.
We cannot allow our neighbors, friends, and family, people who have lived, worked, and raised families here for years to be ripped from the only home their children have ever known. We urge the administration to extend TPS designations, and we call on every member of Congress to pass the American Dream and Promise Act to protect these vital members of our community.
