WASHINGTON, DC – FWD.us President Todd Schulte issued the following statement today after more than 30 House Republicans sent a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan calling for a permanent legislative solution for Dreamers before the end of the year:

“That more than 30 House Republicans have made clear to the Speaker that legislation to permanently protect America’s Dreamers must come before the end of the year is critical and we applaud them for this. The time is now. Our nation cannot wait, and these House Republicans have made clear Congress should do its job this year. There is no reason to wait. Moreover, we are encouraged that members from both sides of the aisle realize that Congress must fix this problem before year-end because voting for spending bills without first protecting Dreamers means voting for immigration enforcement dollars that will be used to deport DACA recipients who know no other home than the United States.”
