For over three decades, undocumented immigrants have urged Congress to pass legislation that would provide them with certain protections. Unfortunately, Congress has yet to take meaningful action. But undocumented immigrants will not give up until permanent immigration protections become a reality.
Families across the country are counting on Congressional Democrats, who still have an opportunity to use a legislative process known as reconciliation to fulfill their promises on immigration. Including immigration in reconciliation is not just the right thing to do — it would also boost the economy, raise tax revenue, help relieve the current worker shortage, raise wages for all Americans, and strengthen the nation’s competitiveness.
