Oklahoma has one of the highest imprisonment rates in the country. Oklahomans continue to spend far longer in prison for most crimes than people in other states – almost double the national average for drug and property crimes.
Oklahoma legislators can pass two common sense criminal justice reform measures this session. SB 704 would help end excessive sentences for nonviolent crimes, reunite families, and save taxpayers over $100 million over the next decade. HB 2879 would invest those savings in services for domestic abuse survivors and violence prevention programs.
