What inspired you to get involved with FWD.us?

I came to the United States for college. I studied at Stanford University, where I was inspired to get into start-ups. The last three years have been tough, since it's always been tricky for smaller companies to hire foreigners like myself (especially if you aren't an engineer). When I saw that I could make a difference and raise awareness about immigration reform with FWD.us, I knew I had to join. I want to do this for all the international students coming to the US with dreams of working here or starting their own companies.

What team are you volunteering on and why?

I'm the Content Volunteer Leader mainly because I've always loved writing, photography and painting. I believe that sharing stories plays a vital role in raising awareness because it makes a concept more accessible to everyone. I'm looking forward to coming up with creative projects like collages, blog posts, infographics and videos for FWD.us' cause. I am also an Excel junkie who likes coming up with stories through data. So I'm excited to see what the content team comes up with!

What has been your most memorable moment so far in organizing for immigration reform?

The Strategy Session. I left that meeting ready to take on the challenge and so excited to start planning content team events!

Favorite quote: "My mother said to me, 'If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.' Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso." - Pablo Picasso

Favorite food: I love Japanese cuisine. I could eat that forever.
