Celebrate Houston's spot as the most diverse city in the country with an OPEN BAR happy hour, sponsored by FWD.us, and opening remarks by Council Member Ed Gonzalez.

August is a crucial month for comprehensive immigration reform, and FWD.us is tackling the issue head on. Founded by Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Reid Hoffman, Padmasree Warrior, and other technology leaders, FWD.us is a bi-partisan, not-for-profit organization.

Immigration reform is one of the most important issues being considered in Washington right now. Legislators on both sides of the aisle recognize that our nation’s antiquated policies cannot continue for another generation. We want to remain competitive in the global economy, to attract talent from around the world, and to strengthen our neighborhoods with families and jobs. Something has to change.

And Houstonians know that immigration is not just a political issue: it’s a personal issue. Our city thrives because it is diverse. From the Texas Medical Center to hundreds of multinational corporations in our metro area, we attract the best and the brightest from across the world.

Join FWD.us this coming Thursday to find out how you can join the movement to help pass comprehensive immigration reform.
