Joe Green, Founder and President
Joe founded FWD.us to organize and engage the tech community on issues of vital importance to America's global competitiveness. Previously, he founded Causes and co-founded NationBuilder to realize his belief that social networks enable community organizing at a previously unknown scale. These two successful companies combine the best of traditional organizing with new technologies, making the tools of democracy more widely available and empowering people to become leaders.
Joe started in local politics by winning election to his local school board while he was still in high school. He went on to work on several other political campaigns at the local, state and national level, including John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. He is a Board Member of the Salesforce Foundation.
Emanuel Yekutiel, Chief of Staff
Emanuel supports the President in his work to bring America forward. He graduated from Williams College where he was Co-President of the Student Body. He previously worked in the White House Office of Public Engagement and on President Obama’s re-election campaign in New Hampshire.
Jeremie Vella, Digital Director
Jeremie spearheads FWD.us's online advocacy program. He is responsible for social networking, web production, email marketing and content creation. Most recently he was the digital director for the Obama campaign in Colorado during the 2012 election.
Darius Contractor, Chief Technology Officer
Darius is a Stanford computer science graduate and son of an Indian immigrant. He was the VP of Engineering for Bebo from 2006 to 2009, where he helped grow daily page views from 100 million to 350 million before it sold to AOL. He likes dancing and philosophical chats in his spare time.
Lisa Conn, National Organizing Director
The veteran of three successful political campaigns, Lisa brings to bear vast experience in community organizing and electoral politics. She spent two years working for president Obama's 2012 re-election campaign, first in Los Angeles, and then as the Regional Field Director in the critical region of Broward County, Florida. From there, she served as Campaign Manager for a competitive and victorious City Council race in Los Angeles. Lisa is a graduate of New York University, where she studied Social and Cultural Analysis, American Studies, and Metropolitan Studies.
William Leiter, Deputy Digital Director
William helps develop and implement the FWD.us advocacy strategies on the web and social media. He helps manage the organization's online advertising, email program, and website, and guides our online analytics. He previously worked as a legislative aide in the California State Senate, and as a digital strategist for political campaigns.
Michael Lucas, Digital Strategist
Michael assists the development of the online advocacy strategy and our overall digital outreach efforts. He is responsible for helping manage the email program, website, analytics, and digital assets. Previously the deputy digital director for the Obama campaign in Wisconsin and a digital developer for the 2013 Presidential Inauguration.
Rob Avruch, Western Regional Organizing Director
Rob is a former staffer at the Center for American Progress and a veteran of the President's re-election campaign in New Hampshire, Rob brings his extensive knowledge of community organizing and electoral campaigns to FWD's organizing team. Rob is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where he studied History and Women's and Gender Studies.
Felipe Pereira, Northwest Regional Coordinator
Prior to joining FWD.us, Felipe was a legislative affairs intern at Amnesty International in Washington, DC and a Field Organizer for Organizing for America - Florida. Felipe studied Political Science and History at the University of California Santa Barbara.
Rocio Molina, Silicon Valley Regional Coordinator
Rocio is a graduate of Stanford University, where she coordinated cultural events for the Latino student community. After graduating, she worked as an affidavit writer for immigration cases. This work inspired her to join FWD.us and continue to contribute to the fight for immigration reform.
Kym Bays, Social Media Manager
Kym Bays manages the social media networks for FWD.us. She previously worked for Independent Voter Network and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She went to Temple University.
Lucas Waldron, Content Manager
Lucas graduated from University of San Francisco in 2013, where he studied international politics and film production. At USF, he served as Executive Producer of the university's student run television station for two years and interned at the Institute for Human Development in Cochabamba, Boliva. Since graduating, he has worked as a video editor and in operations at Bay Area film festivals.
Amy Koch, Operations Manager
Amy Koch supports FWD's overall operations, managing the organization's logistics and internal scheduling. She attended the University of San Francisco, where she studied Sociology and Legal Studies. Before working for FWD, Amy conducted research for a non-profit in Rajasthan, India and interned for Amnesty International.
