FWD.us and the Lower East Side Girls Club invite you to attend a reception on Wednesday, June 18, in New York. Celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month with students in the community and learn about the "EST." campaign highlighting stories of arrival to the United States. All ages from the community are welcome.

Keynote speakers will share their own "EST." stories and speak with students afterward:

  • Deborah Beribechez -- Host of Discovery Channel's TV show Outrageous Acts of Science and first Mexican woman to earn a Ph.D in physics at Stanford University
  • Sonam Velani -- Harvard Class of 2009, formerly at the World Bank, and now at Mayor Bill de Blasio's office
  • Dawn Barber -- Co-founder of New York Tech Meetup (NYTM), where companies like Tumblr and Foursquare made their debut, and a native New Yorker

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; there will be three keynote presentations followed by Q&A. Everyone is invited to share or hear immigrant heritage stories with friends, family, and the speakers over refreshments from 7 - 8 p.m.

*Please feel free to pass this invitation along to any interested friends or coworkers.

We hope to see you at the EST. Reception!
