Serhat is a Clinical Lecturer and the Director of the Center for Risk Management at Quinlan School of Business. He founded Sente Advisory Services, located in Chicago, IL, in 2008 to provide consulting services in the areas of innovation and new ventures. Since then he has worked with over 50 start-ups and growth companies in varying to provide mentorship and guidance regarding business modeling, incubation, and fund raising. He is frequent judge at Start-up Chile, KAUST, Teknokumpp and ITU Cekirdek new venture programs. He is also a General Partner with an emerging venture capital fund, Anka Capital Management that focuses on Turkish Start-up ecosystem.

The White House has announced the draft of a program that will make it easier for talented foreign inventors, researchers, and startup founders to continue creating jobs in the United States. Before the entrepreneur program can go into effect, the administration has opened a public comment period.
